Growth Stimulators

When we’re young, our bodies have lots of human growth hormone. It’s necessary for growth in children. But as we age, our growth hormone levels drop. This leads to decreases in health and various signs of vitality.

Sermorelin has been shown in research to replace the function of a growth hormone-releasing factor that stimulates our pituitary gland to release human growth hormone naturally. Sermorelin can restore healthy growth hormone levels.

Sermorelin is comprised of 29 amino acids found in the hormone GRF 1-44, a hormone that your body produces naturally to stimulate the release of growth hormone. Sermorelin mimics the natural process, triggering the pituitary gland to produce natural growth hormone.

Originally BPC-157 was used to help prevent stomach ulcers, but a range of other benefits have been discovered. It has been shown to accelerate wound healing, not only at the surface, but also for ligament and tendon damage. BPC-157 can reduce recovery times after injury, decrease inflammation, and possibly provide some cardiac protection.

Consisting of just 15 amino acids, the synthetic peptide BPC-157 provides various healing and regenerative properties for the human body. This sequence of amino acids isn’t found naturally in the body; it is derived from proteins found in our digestive juices. As such, it is categorized as “synthetic.”

Collagen is essentially the glue that holds the body together. This protein makes up over 80 percent of our skin and is the main component of our ligaments and tendons. On an aesthetic level, collagen provides the structural latticework in the dermis layer of our skin that makes the young skin firm and supple, yet elastic. The problem is that every year after our 20th birthday, our bodies produce one additional percentage point less collagen. By 50, we have third less collagen to work with.

Vitamin C is necessary for our body to synthesize large amounts of collagen for growth and replacement of collagen that is degraded by daily wear and tear. Collagen cannot be built naturally in the body with the assistance of vitamin C. By combining vitamin C with collagen in a supplement, ensures the body can use the collagen.

The liposomal aspect of these supplements is the delivery method of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, so it cannot penetrate fat-soluble cells effectively, creating an absorption rate of oral vitamin C of only around 20 percent. But when vitamin C is encased in liposomes, which are fat-soluble, this allows vitamin C to penetrate the fat-soluble cellular walls, delivering the vitamin C where the nutrients are needed the most. The absorption rate with liposomal vitamin C is about 90 percent.

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is made by taking a blood sample and separating out the blood platelets and other parts of the blood. Once these are separated, platelet-rich fibrin contains healing platelets, various growth factors, and leucocytes in a complex fibrin matrix.

Platelet-rich fibrin is confused with platelet-rich plasma, which has been used in aesthetics and injury healing in professional athletes. PRF is a more recent addition but is proving to have higher concentrations of platelets, approximately 10 times the platelet concentration found in a normal blood sample (this contrasts with only 2-5 times the platelets in platelet-rich plasma).

Colostrum is a breast fluid produced by humans, cows, and other mammals before breast milk is released. It is very nutritious and contains high levels of antibodies, the proteins that fight infections and bacteria. Colostrum promotes growth and health in infants and newborn animals, but research has shown that taking bovine colostrum supplements may promote immunity, help fight infections, and improve gut health throughout life. Bovine colostrum is similar to human colostrum; it is rich in vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, disease-fighting proteins, growth hormones, and digestive enzymes.

Growth factors are present throughout the body, telling cells to heal and grow. In our skin, growth factors work to repair damaged skin, produce new supplies of collagen, and help improve elasticity and skin firmness. As happens with collagen, our body’s production of growth factors slows with aging. This hinders our skin’s ability to heal and regenerate, contributing to the aging and deterioration of our skin.

When placed in a serum applied to the skin, growth factors activate different mechanisms that allow the skin to repair itself. Growth factors, in particular, turn on new collagen and elastin production. This improves the skin’s thickness, firmness, and elasticity, and this reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improves the skin’s tone and texture.

Topical Sculptra is when this popular dermal filler is applied topically immediately following a microneedling session. Sculptra is typically an injected dermal filler that works by delivering poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) particles under the skin where they trigger the body to create new amounts of collagen in the area. This thickens and improves the skin from within, improving lines, wrinkles, texture, and overall skin tone.

When applied topically after microneedling, Sculptra’s microscopic poly-L-lactic acid particles are able to penetrate the microchannels created in the skin. This is only possible for a brief period after the microscopic punctures are created through microneedling because the microscopic wounds begin to heal almost immediately. Once the PLLA particles work down into the skin, they trigger increases in collagen production for a period of up to two years.

At PowerMD, we recommend three topical Sculptra sessions, each about one month apart, to fully realize your results.
